Postpartum Support When the Fog Feels Too Heavy
You're not broken. You're not alone. And you don’t have to navigate postpartum depression without steady, compassionate care. As a postpartum doula, I walk beside you — not to fix, but to help carry the weight.
What is postpartum depression?
Postpartum depression (PPD) is a serious and common mental health condition that affects up to 1 in 7 birthing people. It can involve persistent sadness, anxiety, irritability, guilt, or feelings of disconnection from your baby. Unlike the “baby blues,” which typically resolve within 2 weeks, postpartum depression lingers longer and can be more intense. It’s not your fault — and help is available.
How Can a Postpartum Doula Support You Through PPD?
- ✔️ Gentle emotional check-ins and space to process birth
- ✔️ Partner education to better support your needs
- ✔️ Support establishing rest and nourishment rhythms
- ✔️ Guidance on sleep, feeding, and baby soothing (so you're not overwhelmed)
- ✔️ Watching baby while you nap, shower, or call your provider
- ✔️ Encouraging referrals to therapy, lactation consultants, or pelvic floor specialists when needed
While I don’t treat postpartum depression, I help ensure you’re not walking through it alone.
